Projects

Projects are suggested, approved, and planned by the participating churches and community partners of GOJax. Project locations vary throughout the city. When you REGISTER for GOJax, you choose which project you want to serve with. Outdoor, indoor, and family friendly, and opportunities will be available!

2025 Project Descriptions

All Nations Soccer Park Outreach

  • Engage in local missions with people from 100+ nations right here in Jacksonville! Volunteers will help set up and run festival atmosphere with a cookout and outreach at Ed Austin Park in collaboration with All Nations Soccer League. Volunteers will provide refreshments for soccer players, taking opportunities cheer on the players, share the Gospel and pray for players. This project takes place in the AFTERNOON from 1-7pm. Food & Clothing Distribution

  • Setting up the Jones Road Baptist Church Community Center in preparation for guests coming to “shop” (no charge). 8:30am – 10am: set up and 10am – noon: assist guests who come to the center. Indoor-Outdoor / Family Friendly / Activity Level LOW-MODERATE

Holiday Hill Early Learning Center

  • Two small indoor & outdoor painting projects, set up an outdoor swing set, weed the playground, and freshen up the raised garden beds. Outdoor / Activity Level MODERATEHIGH

Holiday Hill Elementary Bench Construction

  • Constructing playground benches for teachers at Holiday Hill Elementary School. Outdoor / Activity Level MODERATEHIGH

Hope Christian School Picnic Area & Painting Project

  • Our outdoor lunch/picnic area for our kids is in need of repair or refurbishing. Tasks: Remove mulch/weeds. Lay concrete pavers, repair/refurbish picnic benches. Second project will be interior painting of school entrance areas. Indoor-Outdoor/Activity Level MODERATE

Hope Hub House Help

  • Volunteers will complete home projects (mainly yardwork) for families with a terminally ill parent. Possible tasks include pressure washing driveways, trimming trees and bushes, laying mulch/rocks, etc. Outdoor / Activity Level MODERATEHIGH

Hurley Apartments Grounds Cleanup

  • Hurley Apartments is a subsidized housing community for seniors (62+) and those with disabilities. Hurley is independent living similar to the Towers of Jacksonville. Many of the seniors like to spend time outdoors. Hurley’s goal is to provide a place that is pleasant and cared for. Over the past three years, a variety of factors have resulted in the condition of the property grounds deteriorating. Pruning, trimming, weeding, and laying new mulch will result in a pleasant and safer outdoor space for residents. BYOYT (Bring Your Own Yard Tools!) Outdoor / Activity Level MODERATEHIGH

Isla Day Spa Workday (Isla Mae Women’s Non-Profit)

  • We’re preparing Isla Day Spa to open its doors, and we would love for you to join us in serving together! This is more than just a workday—it’s a chance to build something beautiful that will bless our community. Isla Mae will provide services in the spa once it opens, and your hands will help make that possible. Indoor-Outdoor / Activity Level MODERATE

Kim’s Open Door Block Party

  • We are throwing a Block party at Landon Imperial Apartments! At this block party, volunteers can serve the community by serving popcorn or snocones, playing games like connect 4, giant jenga, soccer, or corn hole with the kids, painting fingernails, doing crafts, or helping to lead a small group during story time. Volunteers can run our check-in station, help serve water and pizza, or engage with parents while kids are playing. Volunteers meet directly after the morning rally at Kim’s Open Door 4000 Spring Park Rd Jacksonville Fl, 32207. There, they will pick how they want to serve, load up the bus with supplies, and head together to the apartment complex.

Media Team

  • Do you have an eye for visual storytelling? This team will divide and conquer to visit every project site to capture photos & videos for a celebration photo & video montage in the coming weeks! Indoor-Outdoor / Activity Level LOW-MODERATE

Mobile Grill (Westside)

  • Mobile grill will be set up in a residential area and serve free hot dogs and chili dogs. Some members of the team will do the grill setup and prep while others walk the neighborhood inviting residents to come. Set up starts at 9:30am, Food service will start at 10:am and end at 12:30pm. Starting gospel conversations is the focus. Outdoor/ Family Friendly /Activity Level LOW-MODERATE

One More Child Compassion Center

  • Help One More Child in moving and setting up resources in their brand new Compassion Center! This includes moving/organizing clothing, food, and other donations. One More Child’s Compassion Center provides nourishing meals to children, clothing to children in foster care, single moms, and more. Your help is needed to equip the Center to meet specific needs for the families in our Jacksonville community. Indoor / Family-Friendly / Activity Level LOW-MODERATE / Limited Mobility Access

Preschool Playground Refresh

  • Bless the teachers, children, and families of The Preschool in San Marco by building and painting pretend play storefronts to resemble our very own San Marco Square! Outdoor / Family Friendly /Activity Level MODERATEHIGH

Rally Team

  • Volunteers will help setup refreshments, greet, and check-in volunteers at the GoJax morning rally. Indoor / Activity Level LOW / Limited Mobility Accessible

Towers Cleanup (on October 18):

  • Not available on Oct 4? We have you covered! On Saturday, October 18, volunteers will assist residents of Towers of Jacksonville with small-moderate DIY jobs (changing lightbulbs, mattress flipping, picture hanging, etc.) Indoor / Physical Activity Level LOW-MODERATE
